Advancis named as part of German security-tech consortium regarding FIFA World Cup 2026

Focus on civil security technology solutions for large-scale events and stadiums

July 31, 2023 – In 2026, the USA, Canada and Mexico will host the next Men’s Soccer World Cup.  With 16 venues planned across 3 countries, the 2026 tournament will be played in more cities than any other prior World Cup. When some of the stadiums are modernized to host the tournaments, their security concepts and technologies will have to be revised and upgraded, opening up special requirements and also business opportunities for German companies in the security technology sector. Advancis has been named an official delegation member of the “German Security Tech Consortium Regarding FIFA 2026“, where Advancis will present its software solutions WinGuard and AIM to select local security agencies, World Cup venue operators as well as the respective Chambers of Commerce organizations within the scope of expert forums.

During each Trade Mission trip, the consortium member representatives receives relevant market information and meets face-to-face with local industry representatives at conferences, stadium site visits, and industry roundtables. The goal the delegation visit is to give the participating nine German security companies the opportunity to explore the North American market, become part of an industry network and participate in collaboration sessions regarding preparations for the 2026 World Cup. The visits to host cities are organized by German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) working with local GACC offices in North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) – together with cooperation partner SBS systems for business solutions GmbH. The three-year project is funded by the Market Entry Program for SMEs of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).

After the first two of four planned Trade Mission trips, the Advancis participants are drawing a positive interim conclusion. The first trip took them directly to one of the largest 2026 World Cup stadiums, the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. “It’s been great to interact and share best-practices with the local organizers and also gain a better understanding of both the challenges and upcoming renovation and conversion work underway to support the FIFA 2026 events. The Azteca stadium, which was first opened in 1966, is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul in terms of fan experience and security by 2026. In Monterrey, Mexico, we had the opportunity to visit both the City Operations Control Center of the local police force and look behind the scenes of the security operations of another host stadium which also helped exchange great ideas with all international participants,” explained James Chong, Chairman of the Board of Advancis, Inc. (Advancis USA).

The second delegation trip took the participants to MetLife Stadium in New York and BMO Field in Toronto, Canada. Here, too, they were able to take an interesting look behind the scenes and conduct meaningful exchange with stadium operators and local security teams “During the Trade Mission, we were able to present our software solutions to the invited guests and engage in interesting discussions. We like to help solve our customers’ security challenges via our open architecture approach and see our core value of combining individual systems into a unified solution. Together with the other security technology companies – including our premium technology partner Geutebrück – we are pleased to be part of this unique consortium. We would like to thank the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection and the cooperation partner SBS systems for business solutions for the opportunity to participate and for the successful organization,” said David Teppe, Head of Strategic Alliances at Advancis.

We would like to thank all partners for their participation in German Security Tech Consortium.
