Energy Providers.

Securing energy supply for critical infrastructure with WinGuard, the open integration platform for security, building and process technology.

The Challenge

Risks rising.
Regulation tighter.

Energy operators run highly critical assets like substations, switchyards, power plants and gas distribution stations, often spread across vast geographies. KRITIS mandates, IT-security regulation and insurer requirements raise the bar every year, while sabotage, vandalism, fire, technical failures and control-room understaffing collide with rising system complexity.

  • Integration of all technical systems

One easy-to-operate platform: every system, one interface.

  • Intelligent security & building management

A unified hazard-management surface, not 12 vendor consoles.

  • Audit-ready documentation & reporting

Tamper-proof event logs for KRITIS, ISO and internal audits.

  • Centrally available information

Every alarm, every site, every operator, in the same picture.

The Platform

Everything at a glance.

WinGuard is an open hazard-management platform that consolidates security, building, process and communication systems in one control-room solution. Vendor-neutral, standards-first (IEC 60870, Modbus, OPC, BACnet, ONVIF), scalable from a single workstation to multi-region networks.

  • Vendor-neutral integrations
  • Standards-first interfaces
  • Scalable to multi-site
System architecture for energy operators: server, hot-standby, surveillance, client, video wall and mobile workstations connected over LAN; integrated subsystems include fire alarm (FAS), intrusion (IDS), CCTV, access control (AC), radio, public address (PA), perimeter and IoT

Scenarios & Solutions

The situations WinGuard handles.

01 / 04

Protecting substations & distribution stations.

Substations are critical nodes of the grid, and increasingly targeted by vandalism and deliberate attacks. WinGuard integrates perimeter protection, video analytics, access control and intrusion detection so security-relevant events are detected early and assessed in context.

On alarm, the site is auto-located, matching live video is pulled into view, predefined response plans launch and intervention teams are dispatched, ideally long before a supply impact materializes.

02 / 04

Fire & incident management in power plants.

Fires and technical faults can disrupt production and create real safety risk. WinGuard consolidates fire systems, process alarms and BMS feeds in one operator surface, with clear location + cause information and dynamic response plans guiding the operator step by step.

KRITIS-grade audit logs are written automatically: every event, every action, every decision, tamper-proof and retrievable for regulators, auditors and insurers.

03 / 04

Unauthorized access to sensitive areas.

Control rooms, switch houses and server rooms must remain accessible to authorized people only. WinGuard links access control, video and alarm systems into one integrated concept, so tampering, sabotage and illicit access are detected, visualized and audit-logged in real time, with site maps and live video instantly on-screen.

In critical situations doors can be locked or released centrally from the control room, for example to admit intervention teams as fast as possible.

Companion use case

One operator. Every site. One identity.

Operators rotate between substations, switch houses and control rooms; contractors come and go on tight schedules. With siloed access systems at every site, offboarding a person can take days to propagate, leaving doors open after a contract ends.

AIM consolidates identity across the entire estate into a single source of truth. Add an operator once, revoke them once, audit who entered where, all in one place, all in real time.
