Review 2021

It is time to look back on the year 2021, in which we further expanded our internationalisation in particular outside the DACH region and strengthened our position as one of the international market leaders in the field of vendor-neutral Physical Security Information Management.

The acquisition of Cruatech based in Dublin/Ireland was completed retroactive to the beginning of the year 2021. Cruatech are a software company that in addition to their own products, offer integration services for leading manufacturers from all over the world. Cruatech will remain as an independent company and will further expand their development department. Thus, they might support Advancis in the future as a “Development Partner” and develop specific interface modules for WinGuard projects.

For several years now, Advancis has an area representation based in Leeds, around 300 km northwest of London. In the year 2021, Advancis has won a number of new major projects in the UK market and has also further expanded the related service activities there. As a result, Advancis Software & Services Ltd. has now been established in the UK, operating as an independent wholly owned subsidiary of Advancis Software & Services GmbH in Germany.

In springtime, Advancis also opened a representation in Sweden near Stockholm. The new office in Bålsta supports our sales activities throughout the Scandinavian region.

This year, the “SPELL” research project was launched by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The acronym stands for « Semantic platform for intelligent decision-making and deployment support in control and situation centres“. With the help of artificial intelligence and data technologies, a significant gain in information and time is to be achieved in crisis situations. As one of the 12 project partners, Advancis is testing this in concrete applications of networked BOS and industrial control centres with the aim of ensuring resource-efficient incident management.

Despite the pandemic, Advancis participated in four international trade shows, 20 events, and four specialist lectures this year. If you did not have the opportunity to visit us on site, take a look at our virtual showroom. Our 3D showroom demonstrates how event processing with WinGuard works in a control centre environment and is open for an online visit anytime.

Interactive live webinar: Solving Critical Communication with Integrated Systems

Register for our live webinar (12 October 2021) free of charge. Communication is critical to an efficient incident response plan: In emergency cases, the first crucial communication is the alarm activation and the required operating procedure (workflow) to correctly deal with the situation. Both time but also the accuracy of information is essential.

How can organizations ensure that the speed of incident response is increased and the risk of making incorrect decisions is reduced for the responsible personnel? In combination with the integrated software platform WinGuard, Zenitel provide intelligent critical-communication solutions that allow people to hear, be heard and be understood – every time and everywhere. In this interactive webinar, which will be broadcasted live from the Advancis showroom in Langen/Germany, we will demonstrate & discuss the following topics:

– What is an integrated security & building management platform?

– Benefits and functions of WinGuard

– Integration of Zenitel’s audio solutions into WinGuard

– Live demonstration of critical communication workflows

– Questions & Answers

Our speakers Allan Dickinson, Lars Kämpe and Richard McClellan look forward to your interactive participation!

Advancis acquires Irish Security Company

Advancis Software & Services GmbH, manufacturer of the open Physical Security Information Management Software (PSIM) WinGuard, has acquired the Irish software company Cruatech, one of the leading experts for physical security integrations solutions.

Cruatech based in Dublin/Ireland have eleven years of experience in the security industry and provide individual integration solutions in physical security to customers in all business sectors, e.g. Governmental, Finance and Data Centers. Cruatech are a software company that, in addition to their own products, offer integration services for leading manufacturers from all over the world. With over 250 integration modules already developed, Cruatech have extensive development experience. Cruatech will remain as an independent company and will further expand their development department in the future. Thus, they might support Advancis in the future as a “Development Partner” within the Advancis Ecosystem and develop specific interface modules for WinGuard projects.

With this acquisition, Advancis strengthens their position as one of the international market leaders in the field of vendor-neutral PSIM.

In addition to an own PSIM solution, Cruatech’s existing product portfolio includes in particular a software solution for consolidating access control systems from different manufacturers. The logical and physical access rights associated with an employee’s role are always synchronized, e.g. only one access card is needed to log in to different subsystems. Such functionality is also often desired by PSIM customers so that Advancis can offer their customers added value here while maintaining their vendor-neutrality.

Jan Meiswinkel, CEO of Advancis: “A key factor in the decision to acquire Cruatech was their employees, who have many years of experience in interface development (particularly in the access control sector), but the human element was also immediately convincing. We look forward to working with the experienced Cruatech team to further expand our integration expertise and time to market. In parallel, the Cruatech team will support the Advancis area representation in Dublin/Ireland that will be newly established.”

Cruatech’s CEO David King with regard to the acquisition: “We are excited to be a part of the Advancis group who are industry leaders in the international PSIM market. This represents a huge opportunity to work in a team with a winning mentality and proven track record who possess long-term customer relationships established worldwide over the last 25 years. Cruatech will bring flexibility, determination and a deep understanding of integrated solutions alongside some new and exciting technology.”

Detailed terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction was completed on 18 August 2021 retroactive to the beginning of the year 2021.
